Hoosier State Realizes 90-day ROI Migrating to Microsoft Windows and SQL Server Database

Overview The State of Indiana's Department of Administration (IDOA) wanted to expand usage of its PeopleSoft applications 100-fold to all 40,000 state employees. However, the current deployment platform was costly and response times were unacceptable. A thorough evaluation, including benchmarking with the state's production data, led IDOA to select a scale-up solution based on Unisys ES7000 servers and migration to a Microsoft Windows Advanced Server operating system and SQL Server 2000 database. The state realized a 90-day return on its technology investment and has seen response times improve dramatically. In addition, the new environment easily supports all state employees during the intensive two-week online open enrollment period for benefits.
