On Demand Solution From IBM Helps Harry And David Achieve “Flawless Execution”

Overview Yamanouchi Consumer Inc. the parent company of Harry and David wanted to improve the reliability and availability of its complex order and shipping processes, it also wanted to establish a Web presence for an e-commerce business. YCI saw a way to improve execution by standardizing its entire enterprise, including Harry and David, on IBM technology. The company began a steady migration to all IBM hardware - a mix of @server pSeries, xSeries and zSeries servers - and IBM software, including DB2 Universal Database. YCI added the WebSphere platform and pSeries Web servers to power Harry and David’s popular e-commerce site.
