At Abbey National, Customers Control How and When They Bank

Overview Abbey National wanted to implement a true multi-channel architecture that would streamline operations, improve performance and increase cost-effectiveness, while delivering services and products that its customers value. Although standard company practice is to develop applications in-house, the staff lacked multi-channel expertise. Abbey National selected IBM Global Services to provide consulting services and create a multi-channel architecture, as well as to guide the project with its industry and technical expertise. IBM is also helping the company set up core banking services. The multi-channel architecture was developed with IBM WebSphere Application Server, a high-performance, scalable transaction engine for dynamic e-business applications.
