ABAC Compresses Costs with IBM
Overview Intense competition from low-cost manufacturers in the Far East placed constant pressure on ABAC prices. In order to continue to meet customer demands for build quality, reliability and performance, while offering more competitive prices, ABAC needed to review internal processes and costs. ABAC was looking to consolidate onto fewer servers and cut expenditure on operating system licenses, and selected IBM iSeries, a server already in use as the company’s ERP platform. With the assistance of IBM Business Partner, NoVuS, ABAC installed an iSeries 270 to run alongside its existing iSeries, and implemented Lotus Domino for email and messaging.
