Overview The concept of return on investment (ROI) is one of those few principles that apply to just about everything in life. The essence of ROI is: did you get back more than you put in? As such, it governs every decision to be made - what stock to buy, what car to drive, and whether to eat that last pint of ice cream in the freezer. As these examples suggest, what you put in and what you get back can be many things, both tangible and intangible. This paper tries to explain this concept in detail.
