Overview For years, analog closed circuit television (CCTV) reigned as the de facto standard for video monitoring and surveillance. But as with virtually every technology, including tube cameras, CCD, DSP, telephones and broadcast television, analog is fast giving way to much more flexible and cost-efficient digital systems or, more specifically, networked video.
