Service-Enabling the Network Edge with Cisco 12000 Series IP Services Engine Technology
Overview Carriers want to offer services such as virtual private networks (VPNs), data and voice integration, and tiered service offerings with guaranteed service-level agreements (SLAs). To deliver these services, carriers must be able to extend their existing infrastructures incrementally while demonstrating a rapid return on investment. To meet these requirements, Cisco Systems has delivered Cisco IP Services Engine (ISE) technology for the Cisco 12000 Series Router. Cisco ISE technology brings powerful adaptive network processing to the Cisco 12000 Series, which, when coupled with its modular, distributed architecture, can cost-effectively deliver high-touch services (Committed Access Rate (CAR), MPLS VPN, Access Control List (ACL), etc.) without affecting performance or density.
