Overview This white paper investigates the justification of oversubscription within the server access layer of a Fiber Channel fabric by comparing storage benchmark numbers with real-world application I/O performance numbers from the Cisco manufacturing module within its enterprise-resource-planning (ERP) system. The laboratory storage benchmark test results are based on standard Transaction Process Council (TPC)-C tests.
