Guidelines for Migrating ASCII (ACP) COBOL Code to Unicode with NetCOBOL for .NET

Overview This paper explains the issues that you may encounter when bringing COBOL code that has been working in an ASCII (or ANSI Code Page) environment to the Unicode environment of NetCOBOL for .NET. It starts by reviewing the features of ANSI Code Pages (ACP) and Unicode to make sure that you understand the concepts (or our perspective of the concepts) on which this paper is based. The paper then lists the issues that can be encountered when migrating code from ACP to Unicode, followed by explanations of the different options you have for dealing with those issues.
