Overview This white paper discusses about Microsoft Virtual Private Networking (VPN) technology which is based upon the open standard Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP). PPTP is a networking technology that supports multiprotocol VPNs. Using PPTP; remote users can employ the Microsoft Windows 95 and Windows NT Workstation operating systems and other point-to-point protocol (PPP)-enabled client systems to dial into a local Internet service provider to connect securely to their corporate network via the Internet.
