Process Model for Operations

Overview This white paper describes the Microsoft Operations Framework (MOF) process model, one of the three core models of MOF. The concept of process owners is not new. It has been heavily utilized in the discrete and process manufacturing industries for some time. It also has been applied to IT processes and more recently in service level management. The concept is this: Structure the IT organization around the process owners of each service management function. The process owners are responsible, accountable, and have the proper authority to implement and manage their respective SMF.
