Deploying World Class Converged Communications for the 2002 FIFA World Cup

Overview This white paper talks about Avaya’s implementation of its services during the FIFA World Cup in Japan. Avaya was charged with planning, designing, implementing and operating a converged network to support the 2002 Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) World Cup Korea/Japan soccer tournament. The tournament took place on May 31 - June 30, 2002. Deploying the network provided unique challenges, resulting in learning’s that apply to virtually any situation an enterprise could experience while deploying a large converged heterogeneous network.
