Security in Clearwire Wireless Access Systems

Overview Because the Clearwire system is wireless, it is natural to compare and contrast it between popular wireless local area network (WLAN) technologies such as IEEE 802.11. WLAN systems are designed to be wireless equivalents to wired Ethernet. Ethernet inherently does not provide for user authentication nor does it provide for point-to-point communications. In fact, Ethernet is more like a telephone party line where all the devices connected to a network can hear what everyone else is saying.
