Building Ink Chat

Overview One of the key advances in the Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC Edition operating system is the ability to easily allow developers to add support for pen based input to applications. This input is referred to as Ink and the rich API's included in the Windows XP Tablet PC Edition operating system make it simple to collect, persist, load, manipulate and transform this new data type. This article covers Ink interoperability between various operating systems by describing the architecture for building Ink support into Instant Messaging clients, so that Ink can be collected by the Windows XP Tablet PC Edition operating system, broadcast to other operating systems, and rendered on them.
