Introduction to IEEE 802.11b Wireless LAN

Overview Advancements in wireless link intelligence enable self configuring and self-healing networks that are simple to deploy and adaptable to changing situations. These new technologies enable a new type of network that can be deployed without a large, upfront investment in infrastructure or RF engineering. This network is less expensive to deploy in residential markets than either a new wired infrastructure or a wireless network based on client/base station architecture. Nokia is a pioneer in this new technology with a wireless broadband solution called Nokia RoofTop Wireless Routing.
