Overview Applications utilizing short message service (SMS) can be an ideal way for the Telecom equipment manufacturers (TEMs) to increase income without making a major infrastructure investment. Signaling System 7 (SS7) is the technology used in the core network to transmit SMS messages, which share the same channels and infrastructure as call control messages.
