Anytime Anywhere Learning
Overview Students and teachers at Ninestiles School are using nearly 800 laptops running Microsoft Windows 2000 and Microsoft Office 2000 to connect to the school network wirelessly. Teachers in all subject areas are using their laptops and projectors to call up hyperlinks, CD-ROMs, home-grown lesson presentations, video clips, sound bites and much more to bring their lessons alive. The anytime, anywhere learning (AAL) happens when lessons are experienced by pupils through visual, auditory and inter-active multi-media activities. The AAL project is being financed through an innovative funding model where the students' parents are asked to make voluntary contributions through the Birmingham e-Learning Foundation, which is a registered charity.
