Overview E.D. Smith needed to provide employees with Web-based remote access to critical corporate applications while simplifying system and user administration. Working with IBM and IBM Business Partner MPG Consulting, the company deployed a consolidated IBM eServer iSeries and IBM eServer xSeries system as its windows integration solution. By upgrading to the integrated solution, the company has simplified account administration and management, speeded the deployment of new Windows applications, improved data protection and bolstered reliability experiencing not a single incident of unplanned downtime due to a failure of the iSeries hardware in over five years.
