Overview This paper provides a description of how NetScreen-IDP is designed to reduce false negatives and false positives to deliver accurate attack identification. Out of the scope of this discussion, but relevant to the overall effectiveness of the system, is NetScreen-IDP's ability to operate as an in-line device, capable of dropping an attack as soon as it is detected to eliminate its impact on the network and reduce the time needed to investigate individual attacks.
