Enterprise Portals: Position Paper for CASCON Workshop on Enterprise Integration
Overview Integration is critical for the success of Enterprise Portals, which are emerging as a knowledge management solution to provide, through a single point of access, a personalized and unified view of the enterprise's information, services, applications and processes to its constituents. This workshop session will address the issues and problems facing enterprise portals, the technologies involved, and the role of enterprise integration as a critical success factor. The purpose of the position paper is to set the stage for this discussion. Information presented here reflects the current state of the art in enterprise portals, and is by no means conclusive or exhaustive. The main intent is to elicit participation from workshop attendees in the form of questions, observations, comments and insights.
