COM Interop Library Gives Compact Framework Applications Easy Access to COM Components and ActiveX Controls
Overview When Odyssey Software extended the .NET Compact Framework with a COM Interop layer to make their data access products for Microsoft Windows CE and Pocket PC devices work with Microsoft Compact Framework-based applications, they decided that building special-purpose wrappers for their own products wasn't enough. They built a general-purpose COM Interop layer to enable Compact Framework-based applications to work with any Microsoft ActiveX control or COM component designed for the device. CFCOM includes both managed classes to be used from the Compact Framework and an unmanaged library that communicates with the COM and ActiveX controls. In addition, the product includes pre-built managed wrappers (with source code) for Pocket Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Windows MediaPlayer for Pocket PC.
