Overview The concept of on-demand computing is to provide IT with the tools to apply computing resources more like an electric utility. In this service-driven model, computing resources are dynamically allocated to meet demand, and systems are increasingly self-managed to maximize flexibility and ease of administration. The result is that IT can be run as a service to the business, and the burden of excess capacity can be lifted.
