Cinergy Uses Microsoft Exchange 2000 for Cutting Edge Employee Connectivity

Overview Cinergy is one of the largest non-nuclear electric suppliers in the United States. It is dedicated to providing customers with reliable, reasonably priced energy and related services in an environmentally responsible manner. Cinergy created a subsidized program to provide a home computer for all of the company's 8,000 employees-allowing them to access e-mail from home as well as to learn more about the Internet, which the company is using in innovative ways. Cinergy IT met the huge demand for connectivity by using Microsoft Outlook Web Access in Exchange 2000 Enterprise Server running on Windows 2000 Advanced Server. Cinergy also realized cost savings and increased availability by using Exchange 2000 storage groups and multiple databases to reduce server count, improve backup and restore times, and enhance client response times.
