Infowave Wireless Business Engine Version 4.x: Security

Overview This technical discussion paper describes the security model for the Infowave Wireless Business Engine and its application connectors. The paper explores the five essential components of a secure solution: authentication, authorization, privacy, data integrity, and non-repudiation and discusses how each of these issues is addressed by Infowave's Wireless Business Engine. In addition, this paper examines, from a technical perspective, the way in which Infowave's software functions with respect to three common firewall configurations. The paper concludes by suggesting that the architecture of Infowave's Wireless Business Engine allows administrators to add efficient wireless protocols that permit remote users access to corporate internal network resources without posing significant risk to an organization's overall network security especially in comparison to conventional dial-up or VPN extranet solutions.
