SunTone Certification Validates Quality Standards of Corporate Data Center

Overview Hershey, Pennsylvania, is one of the most popular corporate visitor’s centers in the United States. To keep chocolate shipping on schedule, and manage daily business operations, Hershey uses SAP financial, manufacturing, and sales and distribution modules running on a Sun hardware infrastructure. Considering how important SAP is to its business, Hershey conducts periodic internal audits to make sure that its data center meets world-class standards. As confident as the IT team is in its quality standards, it still wants to be sure that the company’s business units-- as well as partners and suppliers -recognize this quality. That’s why Hershey recently pursued - and attained? SunTone certification of its UNIX-based n-tier hardware infrastructure, a distinction that leads to increased Quality of Service (QoS) by helping organizations efficiently and cost-effectively manages their IT environments. For help in reaching this milestone, Hershey worked closely with consultants from Sun Services, who performed a SunReady Availability Assessment to evaluate the company’s enterprise systems and the supporting data center.
