Overview The Ministry of Defense of Singapore (MINDEF) wanted to build a portal that served as an integrated platform for interaction between the ministry and its community. With the help of Green Dot Internet Services (GDIS), whose job it was to implement the portal, the ministry chose the Sun Open Net Environment (Sun ONE) vision and architecture as the foundation for building the MIW-the lifestyle portal for Singapore's national servicemen (NSmen).
