Overview As the number of functions on mobile handsets continues to grow, users find it increasingly difficult to configure and maintain the services and applications on their devices. To make configuration easier, Nokia has been developing solutions that allow a third party, such as an operator or corporate IT department, to solve users’ configuration problems for them. Nokia has also been active in the standardization work carried out in this area. The set of tools to make the adoption of new mobile services as easy as possible has been given the general term device management and tasks such as device configuration, upgrades, and troubleshooting can all be made effortless for the mobile user.
