Wipro Develops Information Management System for Motor Insurance
Overview One of the customers of Wipro Technologies is a member of a leading global insurer group and a major player in the Irish general insurance market and operates in nearly 70 countries worldwide. The Motor Insurers' Information Centre (MIIC) was established to help fight the crime of uninsured driving. The MIIC maintains a database that contains insurance details of vehicles it manages in the UK. The insurance company needs to send data to the MIIC periodically to keep the database up to date. The challenge was to develop a system that would minimize the errors in the data sent to the MIIC as well as process rejects. Since it is the outsourcing services provider, Wipro developed a system to automate the complete process of handling these data files. This also included automatic handling and processing of rejects and sending back to the MIIC database. The project was done as part of the offshore development center set up for the client based in India.
