Sprint Wins First-Place Innovator Award for Data Warehouse to Aid Internal Marketing Efforts
Overview Sprint had 5 million records on commercial customers from ten different data sources. This data was in different formats and adhered to different data standards. In addition, there were other data quality issues that prevented integrating all data on a given customer. To aggregate information from all locations, divisions, and subsidiaries of a company - to get a complete understanding of the customer from the Pinnacle data warehouse - these diverse records would need to be cleansed and re-engineered before migration. Sprint chose INTEGRITY from Ascential Software to do the job over a less effective tool and in-house coding. The resulting high-quality data helps the Pinnacle warehouse to deliver its full benefits. Sprint product managers now can draw connections among previously unconnected data on customers, billing, and demographics. This information is making it possible for Sprint to understand new ways to market to customers, such as bundling services in order to offer products in a more flexible way.
