Le Raizet International Airport on Guadeloupe Takes Off With 3Com

Overview Le Raizet, is typical of most international airports in that it has a variety of buildings situated across a wide area. Since the mid 1990s, the terminal has been running an FDDI (Fiber Distributed Data Interface) network, which has consistently delivered faultless performance. However, it became clear that such legacy technology would not be able to cope with the heavyweight applications that are increasingly playing a pivotal role in the airport's operation. The Chamber of Commerce's network upgrade team began the search for a solution that had the flexibility to ensure that speed, power and bandwidth were available in areas where network traffic was at its heaviest. Following a product demonstration facilitated by 3Com channel partners, Data Guadeloupe, the Chamber of Commerce decided on a 3Com solution.
