Reducing Operating Expenses in Radio Access Networks
Overview This white paper describes the radio access network (RAN), details the E1 backhauling issues for 2G, 2.5G and 3G networks, and proposes innovative, cost- effective ways to carry both 2G and 3G voice and data traffic from the RAN into the core network. This paper also introduces the NMS Communications AccessGate 500 gateway, which uses aggregation and bandwidth reduction techniques to enable wireless operators to maximize network utilization and reduce leased line expenses. The reduction of these expenses is accomplished with extremely low latency and no compromise in voice quality.
