Tivoli Data Protection for IBM Enterprise Storage Server for Oracle (TDP for ESS) is designed to provide backups that do not affect application availability during the backup process. TDP for ESS does this by using an enhanced feature the ESS Copy Services Flash Copy function. The architecture is based on two systems that share one ESS in a Storage Area Network (SAN) environment.
