ProLiant Solutions: PeopleSoft8 CRM Internet Architecture

Overview PeopleSoft is a world leader in providing e-business applications that enable people - customers, suppliers, and employees ? to power the Internet. PeopleSoft's pure internet Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Supply Chain Management (SCM), and Enterprise Management (EM) solutions provide for an open and flexible e-commerce platform. Companies using PeopleSoft's Pure Internet Architecture (PIA) have the option to deploy many industry standard server-based components (CRM/SCM/EM Application, PeopleTools, WebLogic or Apache Web server, BEA Tuxedo/JOLT, and Oracle/Microsoft SQL Server database) onto ProLiant servers. This paper discusses these various components used for scalability, high availability, and security of Internet services. Instead of covering all possible configurations and devices, the discussion in this paper will be limited to systems that concern the PeopleSoft8 CRM Internet architecture including firewalls, Load balancing Appliance, Reverse Proxy Server, VLANs, DMZ, Generic Web Server Clustering, Application Server Clustering, and Database Server Clustering.
