Overcoming Limited Spectrum Allocation for Broadband Wireless

Overview This paper describes how a broadband wireless system can compete successfully with cable and digital subscriber line (DSL) in delivering services to small office/home office (SOHO) and residential subscribers. For the system to compete, this paper shows that a system must and can efficiently use the limited spectrum allocated for broadband wireless services. This paper demonstrates that a cellular system using orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) with quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK) level of modulation can meet these criteria. It presents an analysis of system design parameters required to best use the limited spectrum allocated for broadband wireless services.
