Overview The promise of Java was Write Once Run Anywhere. As n-tier architecture gains popularity, this characteristic of Java makes it a compelling language to adopt for such development. Deciding how to partition application, and what code runs where, can occur after development has begun. However, developers have hesitated to move Java code into the database.
