JMS Integration in the Orbix E2A Application Server Platform

Overview This paper describes IONA's implementation of the J2EE 1.3 Java Message Service (JMS), which provides a standard API for asynchronous communication among applications. Topics include how to integrate JMS into an EJB 1.1 environment, the concepts of Connection Pooling and Consumer Classes, and examples of integration between the Orbix E2A Application Server and Progress Software's SonicMQ 3.0 (the Orbix E2A Application Server Platform includes Progress Software's SonicMQ 3.0, but works with any compliant implementation of JMS). The integration between IONA's Application Server and JMS makes it easy to write applications that deliver high volumes of messages across the Internet in a secure and reliable manner.
