A Real-time Solution from Bang Networks with the Help of Dell and Red Hat
Overview Formed by a group of MIT scientists and Internet industry pioneers, Bang Networks officially launched its product offerings in April 2001. A key component of the Bang Real-Time Network is a new class of networking routing device designed to enable highly scalable, real-time connectivity across the Internet. The Bang Object Router serves as a building block for Bang Network's patent-pending distributed architecture for a first-of-its-kind intelligent routing network. Identifying an appropriate operating system was one of the early challenges for the Bang Networks development team. Dell and Red Hat formed the One Source Alliance in 2000. This unique relationship unites Red Hat's leadership in the Open-Source market with Dell's commitment to meeting the demand for Linux from the edge of the Internet to the heart of the Enterprise. Initially, the company established two data centers, but has plans for more locations as customer demand dictates.
