Cognos Gives Swiss Life (Belgium) a Secure Grip on its Figures
Overview From its humble roots as a mutual insurer in Zurich in 1857, Swiss Life has grown into a blue chip group. One of the first synergy projects, together with asset management, was the introduction of CODA Financials as a new accounting system for both legal entities in early 1999. CODA Financials operated one single, very extensive and complex database, containing general and analytical data. While this in itself offered enormous potential for extensive and detailed reporting, the CODA Financials system was not set up to perform this function. When the executive committees of Swiss Life (Belgium) and ZELIA were integrated in 1999, the Cognos Solution was chosen once again to expand the management reporting system already operated by Swiss Life (Belgium). Preparation of the reports is both easy and quick, while the system's users are delighted with the great accessibility and clarity of the reports.
