Oracle Database on Itanium® 2-based servers offers world-class performance, reliability and scalability, with platform and operating system choices
Overview
Today a large number of corporations are using Oracle9i* Database, the latest version of
Oracle Database, to build and run their mission-critical applications-based ecosystem. From
high-transaction applications to Web sites and data warehouses, companies worldwide
depend on Oracle technology. It is known for its cross-platform support of all popular operating system environments.
Oracle9i Database is now available on the Intel® Itanium® 2 processor. This powerful
processor is the latest in a family of processors based on the Itanium architecture, which
features Explicitly Parallel Instruction Computing (EPIC) technology for high performance,
64-bit computing. While the Itanium architecture is built from the ground up to give businesses outstanding performance,
high availability and the scalability they need to succeed, it is also based on open standards
to deliver greater flexibility, choice and value versus restrictive proprietary solutions.
