Hong Kong Baptist University Builds Virtual Learning Facilities with Macromedia
Overview An autonomous and publicly-funded institution, Hong Kong Baptist University is committed to a distinctive mission of higher education which incorporates teaching, research, and service. The outbreak of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) in Hong Kong forced the closure of all learning institutions. Teachers and school administrators needed a quick and easy alternative to classroom learning that would keep students up-to-date in a safe environment. The Hong Kong Baptist University took on the challenge of quickly creating a rich online learning solution that would allow simultaneous teacher-student interaction. Macromedia solutions have enabled Hong Kong education community to respond quickly to classroom suspension during an atypical pneumonia outbreak and provide a rich online learning environment and virtual classrooms to reduce interruptions in learning.
