Overview Cisco content engines, running Application and Content Networking System (ACNS) software, are an important part of a highly available IP network infrastructure for any organization that is deploying a mission-critical Web application. Available as network-integrated appliances or router-integrated network modules for the Cisco 2600, 3600, and 3700 series routers, the Cisco Content Engine offloads Siebel 7.5 servers, improves application response times, and greatly reduces the network bandwidth consumed by intranet traffic. Offloading server traffic enables current servers to scale to serve more applications and users, thereby lowering TCO.
