Overview Clearly reflecting HP's increased investment in its UNIX product line, HP-UX moves to the head of the class for UNIX operating system functions. HP-UX occupies the top spot in every studied category, with a particularly strong lead in Internet and Web Application Services, and an impressive surge forward in the intensely competitive RAS (Reliability, Availability, and Serviceability) category. Solaris continues its strong showing overall, sharing the top spot in Scalability with HP-UX and Tru64 UNIX, and also coming up strong in Directory and Security Services. AIX holds its own in System Management, Internet and Web Application Services, and Directory and Security Services, but falls behind in the Scalability and RAS areas.
