Maritime Life Files the Right Claims With Unicenter CA-MII Data Sharing
Overview Maritime Life is one of Canada's fastest growing financial services companies, offering financial security through a selection of personal insurance, disability and critical illness insurance, investment products, pensions, and group life and health products and services. The organization had decided to update its back-end systems by decreasing the number of logical partitions (LPARs) from four to two. In order to do this and ensure the company didn't lose any data, Maritime Life required a systems management product that would allow for the safe sharing of data sets and Direct Access Storage Device (DASD) resources among multiple system images. CA's Unicenter CA-MII Data Sharing (Unicenter CA-MII), formerly known as CA-Multi-image Integrity, fit the bill by streamlining and automating many of the procedures involved in sharing resources. Unicenter CA-MII improves cost efficiency by letting multiple image sites share data center resources across as many as 32 system images and by helping clients share resources between sysplex, non-sysplex, standalone and geographically separated data centers.
