Overview Belgian sugar refinery Tiense Suiker was running SAP R/3 ERP software in an environment with Apple Macintosh desktops. That worked fine-until the company needed to upgrade to an SAP version that did not support its desktop environment. Tiense Suiker turned to Getronics for the deployment of a solution based on Microsoft Windows 2000 Server and Citrix Metaframe. Because client applications run the server, the company can save money now by leveraging its investment in desktops, and save more money later by migrating to a low-administration environment of true thin-clients when it's ready. Tiense Suiker anticipates a 29% ROI over three years. Meantime, the Windows 2000 Server environment boosts manageability, security, collaboration, and overall agility.
