Server Consolidation Yields Superior Availability, Lower Costs for La-Z-Boy's Mission-Critical Systems

Overview La-Z-Boy Inc. is one of the world's leading furniture producers, with annual sales in excess of U.S.$2 billion. To minimize the administrative effort and costs associated with its rapidly expanding server infrastructure, La-Z-Boy consolidated dozens of business applications onto one Unisys ES7000 server running Microsoft Windows 2000 Datacenter Server. In addition to on-demand scalability, superior price-performance, and a high degree of flexibility, La-Z-Boy's new solution delivers superior availability for the company's mission-critical Web sites, transaction processing databases, and reporting tools. Tests conducted over a nine-month period show an average availability level of 99.976 percent based on unplanned downtime.
