Telecoms Operator Deploys Web Services Messaging for Integration

Overview A major European telecommunications network operator has decided to use SOAP-based Web Services to integrate its Operations Support Systems (OSS) and Business Support Systems (BSS). Over the past several years, the network operator has made significant investments in infrastructure and supporting systems.

The recent difficult economic situation, which has affected the telecommunications industry more than almost any other industry has resulted in changing priorities regarding the use of technology. The emphasis has moved from introducing and deploying new technology as fast as possible to using the existing systems as efficiently as possible.
