Kinderview: Growing with Technology Awards
Overview KinderView, a leading Internet company specializing in child care technology, operates a revolutionary, fully secure, browser-based viewing system designed to ease the anxiety of parents with children in preschool or day-care. To offer this service, KinderView required a means to ensure secure transmissions and to develop a global network to efficiently provide high-quality and quick-loading images. Taking advantage of the Internet's global characteristics, KinderView developed a complex infrastructure that captures images at the preschool, converts the transmissions and sends them through a Virtual Private Network (VPN). Leveraging a Cisco Catalyst 2924XL switch that connects to a Cisco Catalyst 5505 switch, which in turn connects to a Cisco 7500 router, KinderView has built a centralized, secure, end-to-end VPN. In less than a year after launching the service, KinderView has gained a multi-regional presence with customers in California, Arizona, Texas, Mississippi, New Jersey, and Virginia, and continues to grow.
