Cisco's Content Networking Solutions Enable the Department of Veteran Affairs to Deliver Training Quickly and Effectively via Video on Demand and Live Broadcasts

Overview The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) continually seeks to increase the customer focus in VA and provide better, more responsive service to veterans and their families in more resource-efficient ways. To enhance and streamline employee training, the Department of Veteran Affairs Learning University (VALU) has developed a learning management system to encompass all of VA's e-learning solutions. The Cisco Enterprise Content Delivery Network (ECDN) solution is being deployed in conjunction with the VA Knowledge Network to deliver live and video on demand (VOD) training and communication broadcasts to employees. The Department of Veteran Affairs reaps many benefits from the Cisco ECDN solution. They are able to enhance the level of training provided to employees, thereby increasing performance and quality of service to veterans and improving employee retention rates. Through the use of digital and IP-based learning initiatives, the VA is able to measure the increase in quality of service by linking education to performance.
