Eastman Chemical Company has replaced its EDI and fax automation system with an ecommerce product from Commerce One. According to the company, the EDI network could not handle the full automation and centrally-controlled purchasing it requires.
The result will enable GXS's EDI technologies to work with Commerce One's online trading exchanges. The joint product will be based on IBM's WebSphere suite, on either the NetFinity or AS/400 platforms.
