Timex Consolidates Servers and Administration with Windows Server 2003

Overview Timex needed a streamlined IT infrastructure that would simplify administration, reduce operating costs, and enhance the user experience. In 2002, the firm deployed Microsoft Windows Server 2003 at headquarters, replacing a legacy system that required additional software with substantial licensing fees and additional equipment to accomplish the same functions. The deployment allowed Timex to consolidate its file and print servers at a 5-to-1 ratio as well as eliminate third-party software licensing fees, while improving the user experience. Using the process developed at headquarters, the company now is deploying Windows Server 2003 across all its locations.
